Loki sat at the edge of the Lake just gazing across it in an attempt to clear his mind. It wasnt that he had a lot on his mind really such mental exercises had been a part of his life as far back as he could remember. Even with all that practice in the art of meditation he had never mastered it, never seen the visions that his family had so easily seen, and never truly entered the state of calm that he was suppose to. Oh sure he had lied to his mentors at first, saying that he had indeed reached whatever astral plane of existence that was suppose to be achieved heres. After time he began to believe his own lies however and now thought of himself as on par with those that had been his teachers. He had even tried to pass on his "wisdom" to a couple of actually uninterested students one day but got frustrated at their inability to see themselves floating above themselves or some such silly nonsense. But then again what do you expect from bullfrogs?
"I am one with the universe. I am but a pebble on life's beach. My breathe is like the wind that shakes the trees, my eyes see with the strength of the sun, and my soul is at peace with all around me." he said in a low voice to himself. These were the same words that the ancient masters of steath and shadow used and then taught their students. Okay so not the exact words, after all Loki had to fine tune and adapt to fit his style, plus he had never really memorized the old chant. That didnt matter when you were a super spy, a shadow of death, a wolf that would work for the highest bidder, or at the very least related to such wolves.
After a few moments of this he closed his eyes and began practicing fighting strategies with invisible opponets. In his mind he was thrashing them all. Fur was flying, blood splurting, and they were crying for mercy only to be answered by his deep laughter. The problem with this whole scenario was that he wasnt fighting off an army of foes but moving dangerously close to a rose bush that was growing near the water's edge. He dodged this way and snapped at that as he made his way ever closer until finally it happened. Just as he turned his head to deliver the final bite to the throat of an unruly cur he was attacked himself. Thorns dug in to his tender nose tip, causing him to yelp out in pain and open his eyes wide. Tears filled his eyes as he plopped back down and pawed at his face.
