Oh, so you think you're sly huh. Dark chocolate brown eyes were focused on a rabbit that was nibbling some grass, it's long fluffy ears were perked up but it's guard was down, occasionally it would look up from it's munching madness and scan the area for any predators. Multiple mixed colors of creamy tans, browns, whites, blacks, and grays were what consisted of her furry pelt and the added thick layer of mud camouflaged her scent. A bushy wolf tail stayed as motionless an silent as the stillness of this forest. Hunches squeezing, ready to burst at any moment from all the added anticipation, she wanted to run, wanted to squash the little mammal between her jowls and hear her canines pierce the flesh and blood to dribble within her mouth in a quenching thirst.
Just the image running wildly through her head made her almost leap up and take aim on the poor little rabbit. Instead she closed her momentarily and opened them, not daring to take a large intake of air, she was too steadied to move and too excited to every try and move. But her legs were itching to take just a step closer, just a tiny step closer. Stop, calm yourself, you're getting worked up. The Grey wolf dared to take a small inhale of air before slowly letting it out the same way it had come. Alright, you're calm, you're rational, now...Focus on the prey, be the hunter, wait for the right exact moment to pounce...
Hevyn mentally set herself up, waiting, focusing on her instructions and following them through. The pouncing didn't happen yet because she felt a cramp in her leg, but after another delayed moment, the cramp ceased and she was left with a buzzing almost torturous tingling sensation on the sole of her hind paw. The rabbit wrestled with some more grass and poked its head up lazily to sense any danger, and about the time she lurched out and the time the rabbit had turned in her general direction; Hevyn collided into an unseen ditch, her attempts were all in vain. Laying on her furry back she mentally sighed, Why is it me today? Why me? Hevyn thought as she scrambled to roll onto her paws and find grip along the ditch's walls.
Clawing her way out finally she stared around, almost making her head spin while she looked around for any sign of her late breakfast that was quickly turning into lunch and by the way she was going maybe even dinner. Damn them. Her stomach made a protest as well, growling deep and low as if it were speaking its own mind, yelling at her to fill it up with nutrients. Shuddup, I can hear you. She thought again and then relaxed, calming herself down again before taking on the task of retracing her steps and figuring out where that rabbit's scent trailed to. This really just wasn't her day, now was it? Well of course it was her day---only maybe to her it probably didn't seem like it.

A dark shape moved through the trees more silent than a shadow and ten times as cautious. Since he was young, Cadence had always moved like that. Like a shadow. The pine needles underfoot stuck into his paws, but after seventeen years of cognitive life, he had grown used to it. The scarred remnants of pads on the bottom of his feet served as a decent buffer in most situations, though odd angles still sliced into his feet. Cadence preferred the deciduous forests that lined the river-- they were easier on his feet, and just more comfortable to him in general.
Now he walked the Moema forest. He was not hunting, or anything of the sort. Cadence was merely observing. Observing the forest in action. Observing the loners in action. Cade felt himself drawn to loners like a moth to the flame. He liked their singular life style. It was, to be honest, more appealing to him than pack life. And here he was, just another dark pelt in the masses, caught in limbo between what he wanted and the stability he already had.
He could see patches of a gray pelt through the trees ahead. Though the air was thick and tasted, overbearingly so, of an oncoming thunderstorm, he could scent a female, not much younger than he, ahead. And though it was barely there for him: a rabbit. He saw the pelt spring, and heard the rabbit leap away unharmed. She had missed.
The dark brute glided forward. He did not know why so many of the wolves on the island had pelts so dark like he did. To him, it was natural. It was the pale wolves that were strange. He had never seen one up close. Always shades of gray and black. This loner was lighter than the other wolves-- almost like the alpha of the Northern pack.
Between two trees he saw her, lying on her back as if she were in human form or as if she were showing her submission to the sun and trees above. His orange, jack-o-lantern eyes watched her curiously, without saying a word or offering to help as she struggled out of the ditch. Most would normally avoid the ditch, he thought, as his jaws twisted into a wolfish smirk knowing full well that she hadn't meant to hit the ditch at all.
As she began to stalk away, he continued to watch her from his perch between two trees-- dark and matte compared to the trees and lichen and forest around him. Cade's long, tapering muzzle turned with her, and as she was ready to disappear into the forest, the shift in weight caused the young brute to stumble forward-- disturbing and cracking the needles and a pinecone before him. It was not a loud noise, but to a wolf on the hunt, it was sufficient for inspection.

Hevyn had buried her nose in the dirt, literally as she tried to take in deep breaths in finding her lost prey but a suddenly noise jolted her as if someone had amplified it in her sensitive ears. She became a little skittish and instinct made her jump into the nearest bush before peering out and looking about for the source of the still echoing sound in her ears. Maybe it's more game? She thought suggestively before crouching down and crawling backward from the inner bush and circling around it to a tree and doing this until she found the thing. Well, actually it was kin and she just stared at the wolf; not sure if he or she were friend or foe.
Silently inhaling she took in the other's scent and noted that it was a male and from appearances he looked not that much older than her. An almost bright smile lit her wolfish features as she popped out from behind the tree and pouncing the other with a playful intent. "Hee, hee, what are you doing ruining my hunt, silly one?" Hevyn sounded sweet as she asked the question but deep down within that wood factory of a brain she had, she was pissed off more than not; mostly at herself for not detecting a fellow kin and being way too absorbed in her hunt. Then again she shouldn't really call it much of a hunt, right now it was unclassified whether or not she'll succeed in catching that rabbit.
Hevyn dipped her nose and buried it into the charcoal fur of the brute. His scent was unique like all the others but she couldn't help but inhale and exhale before pawing his face gently, "You smell of many others. Are you of other kin too?" Being alone almost all the time---well there was no need for speaking and the way she was talking was a bit confusing, she just hoped that the male would understand enough that she meant if he was from a pack. A furry ear perked a little when she dually noted a sound that was that eerie, almost irritating roll of growling thunder; and in the pit of Hevyn's stomach she really wanted to growl right back but refrained and just examined the other.
Her brother was just as dark but this was her first encounter with one just as black as he. That probably could explain a lot as to why she buried her nose in his coat. "Oh! I've got a question." The Grey wolf smiled sheepishly and if wolves could blush she'd be beat red. "Could I touch your coat? It looks well kept and I---Well, I think it's beautiful." Odd little one? Yes, but strange enough to be psycho, definitely not. She didn't change into her human form without a yes or no from the other and she already knew she was being rude.
Well it didn't dawn on her that she was being rude, it took a while before she realized she was being rude and she blurted out, "I'm Hevyn Inoue." You're sounding more and more like an idiot, why can't you just-------- BOOM, thunder crackled in the air again and Hevyn almost grimaced; though wolves don't have much expression that's just about what she would be looking like at the moment. Why thunder storms?

After he stumbled forward, Cade's ears automatically pinned themselves backward to his head in dismay. How could he have let that happen? He was a scout. It was his job to see without being seen. And apparently, he wasn't very good at it.
Amidst his internal rebuke, Cadence did not notice the currently gray she-wolf slip away. He pulled himself to the lee of the tree, unable to see where she had been. He was crouched low, his dark belly low to the ground. She had definitely not been of the Western clan. He had alerted her to his presence. How could he have let this happen?
Cade was large for a wolf, but he wasn't stocky like most other males of the species. He was long bodied, lean and light, and, unfortunately, if he wasn't braced, easy to knock down. Despite the playful intent of Hevyn's pounce, the collision knocked Cadence over-- his almond shaped Orange eyes going wide in suprise as he hit the ground.
He hadn't expected her to approach him like that. He hadn't expected her to leap at him either. Despite this, almost as fast as he was knocked down he was up again. It was all one fluid motion. For some reason, she was excited to see him. It confused Cade, a little.
He snorted when she thrust her nose into his fur, and attempted to back up a little, only to find a tree behind him. His ears were still back and his amber eyes were a tangle of emotions. Anger. Irritation. Confusion.
She talked a lot. She asked a lot of questions. What was he supposed to say? She was so close to him. She was invading his personal space. Normally, Cade wouldn't hesitate to put the person who was so close in their place, but she seemed so... innocent.
The sky overhead rumbled the signal of an on-coming storm, and Cade didn't flinch or react. He ought to be getting home, but something told him that it wouldn't be easy to shake this one. She seemed a little scatter brained. She waited until after she had already molested his chest with her muzzle before asking if she could touch him. Perhaps she wanted to touch his fur again? He couldn't really see why. It wasn't anything spectacular. It was dark and matte, as somewhat coarse. He didn't know why she found it beautiful.
Finally, she introduced herself. Hevyn Inoue. Cadence hadn't heard the name before, though, to be honest, he wasn't an ace with names of people outside his own clan. To be honest, he wasn't an ace with names of people inside his own clan. He really needed to work on that. Now, however, he had a different predicament. Should he tell her his name? Would Blaqwinter be angry at a scout for revealing his identity? Was it even avoidable? Cadence highly doubted it. Though it took a while to circulate, the packs knew each other's business. A faceless name wouldn't hurt anyone.
Watching as she twitched at the sound of thunder, he held back a smirk. He loved Thunder storms-- especially if they were chased by lightning. Storms like those seemed to purge the world-- if only for a few hours. The still and silence and resigned serenity that followed was enough to make his heart stop with the overwhelming sense of being that the world gave.
"Cadence Telalian." His bassy voice, quiet but resonant, returned, not really knowing what to say. What do you say to a question like that? He honestly didn't know. He'd never been confronted with a situation like this.
Like he was so prone to doing, his tail flicked in an entirely cat-like fashion. He didn't know what to do. He had just been prowling around, seeing what he could see in his spare time, and he had been proven not so stealthy as he thought he was. "And yes, I am of other kin."

Hevyn held back a giggle at the way he spoke, it was something strange. Maybe he was alone after all...Even with kin sometimes there are those that are better off alone. She snapped her jowls as tightly closed as she could to not allow that giggle fit to start and huffed a sigh when he spoke again. "Oh," Hevyn remarked as matter-of-fact and then leaned her wolf head closer and inhaled his scent once more. "I suppose these kin are Grain kin." She whispered more to herself rather than to him and then smiled at him when she leaned back.
Hevyn's wolf features brightened when she remembered something, "Ah!! I almost forgot!" She shifted changing into her human kin form and then, with swift movements that could almost be considered inhuman, Hevyn was stroking Cade's fur and giggled a little at the feeling it made under her sensitive human flesh. "Hm...At least it was softer than I had imagined." Her nakedness was unknown to her as she continued to pet Cade. Really, she wasn't the bashful sort and hated it when other kin always wanted her to wear those irritating, itching things called clothes.
Why bother when in fact, wolves are just as naked only without fur when they shift? Plus to her the human form is nothing appealing, just an easy way to move about if stuck in a rut. Hevyn stopped petting Cade for a brief moment and then smiled at him, it could have very well been mistaken as an evil smirk, but more or less a playful evil smirk. "Cadence..." She let his name roll off her tongue for a brief moment and then smiled deeply, "Cadence would it be out of line to ask if I might embrace you?"
Hevyn was beyond weird...But her carefree nature can be mistaken as her innocence or maybe she really is innocent and naive? Either way this female is obviously nothing like those who wish to be alone. She removed her human hands from his fur and laughed, "Aha, sorry for being so out of line. I was just curious." Another boom of thunder and a shocking blaze of lightening struck the Earth and Hevyn had to pull every muscle in her body from making a face that looked close to terror. She hated the sounds, hated the lights, but always loved when the rain came. Which had reminded her, after this encounter she shall have to retrace her steps and look for that blasted rabbit.
((OOC: It's alright! Lol, just take your time. I'd rather have you RP when you have plenty of muse to spare! Besides you probably had a good reason for not being present so you shouldn't apologize. *huggles* Squee!))
